Wow – we can’t think of a better way to celebrate turning the big 2 than by achieving industry recognition for the quality of our work. Shortly after celebrating our second birthday as a digital marketing agency, we learned that we had won not one, not two, but seventeen local ADDY awards. It’s safe to say that the 2016 ADDY Awards were a roaring success for the TDR crew.
Wait… Who is ADDY?
An “ADDY” is awarded by the American Advertising Federation to recognize an achievement within the advertising industry. To win an ADDY is no small feat; local ADDY competitions attract over 40,000 entries each year. Entries compete across 7 categories, with close to 20 sub-categories each. (Bet you didn’t realize advertising encompassed so many things, did ya?)
Local ADDY awards are the first phase of a three-tier national competition. TDR has yet to advance beyond the first tier, but hey, we’re only 2. We’ll set our sights high for our 3rd birthday.
Why Do the ADDYs Matter?
The ADDYs recognize and honor creative excellence within advertising. Every day, advertising professionals create work that informs us, improves us, and inspires us. The ADDYs give us an opportunity to pay homage to the brilliant advertising creatives. After all, they’re the ones behind the moving television commercials, beautiful magazine spreads, and engaging websites that we experience on a daily basis.
On top of giving advertising professionals the opportunity to celebrate creative advancements across the industry, the ADDYs generate proceeds to enhance and further industry development through programs like internships and advertising education.
